Danish born, Liv migrated to Australia as a child in 1971. Coming from an artistic family with her mother being a printmaker and painter, and her father a potter, it is little wonder that Liv chose to follow down a creative path.

Even in her younger years Liv explored designing in many mediums before finding a love for jewellery design and manufacturing. In 1988 Liv started training under well-known Brisbane jeweller Marion Schweitzer. Liv expressed herself though her jewellery by using stylised movement and flowing shapes, often using non-conventional mediums. Liv’s jewellery career spanned over 30 years and a lot of that time she worked independently under her own label while raising her four children.

In 2018 Liv’s hands found clay. A material that she had not really had much to do with even though her father is a potter. A passion was ignited with Liv now exclusively working in clay. She mainly makes functional forms that she uses as a canvas to illustrate a story using lots of colourful underglazes, textures and glazes that contain a lot of movement. She draws her inspiration from the world around her. Often quite whimsical in style, she reminds us of a world that is simpler and more uncomplicated.
