Collection: Bernardine Hine

Bernadine Hine grew up in a creative household where she learnt many different arts and crafts and was always looking for something new to try. She was given a Singer hand crank sewing machine when six years of age and thus began her textile journey. Hine’s love of art saw her do many workshops and short TAFE courses including watercolour painting, life drawing and photography. It was only a matter of time before her passion for art and love of sewing would collide and merge into a journey of textile art.

Hine’s work encompasses a love of nature and has been a joyous journey to make. She make field trips and photograph plants, landscapes, birds and insects and uses these images as inspiration to then draw her designs from.

Hine’s began exhibiting her work in 2002 and since then has received over 40 awards and achievements and her work has been featured in many quilting and textile art publications.
