In his artwork Nicky, delves into the realms of real and imaginary, forcing an interaction of the two, there is always a confrontation within the each drawing, painting, print or poem. My imagery explores the underworld of the night and unconscious dreams, bring them forth into the conscious ness of the day.
Using symbols and figures derived mainly from Freudian and Jungian psychology.
Birds, Cats and humans are all presence in his artworks. The stories told in the works can have many different meanings to the individual. Nicky suggests this a starting point for the viewer to relate their own story and meaning.
He uses numerous mediums including watercolour, acrylic, gouache & oil paint, monotype prints, charcoal and pstel drawing, sculpture and poetry, or combinations of these mediums.
