Vanessa Perske is a well established, self taught South East Queensland artist with many of her works and commissions in private and corporate collections throughout Australia and Internationally.
After completing a Bachelor of Education degree, Vanessa Perske had time away from her creative practice. After s short period as a Primary School Teacher, she realised that her passion is with paint and canvas. She has followed that passion ever since.
Since her move to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Vanessa Perske has changed her focus and has recently based her ideas around nature and its complexity. This is reflected in new work through detail of patterns and layering but Vanessa continues with her distinctive use of intense colour.
Scenes form everyday life will catch Vanessa’s attention and her imagination is always bursting full of ideas. It is difficult for Vanessa to concentrate on anything else until she has captured it in paint.
Vanessa Perske’s work is often described as versatile and adaptive. She loves to keep the spark in her creations and continuously evolve to maintain her enthusiasm and sense of fun.
Vanessa Perske has held two solo shows and entered the prestigious Archibald Prize on two occasions.
